Celebration

When you have your own business, no matter what industry you're in, it's sometimes hard to celebrate the small achievements. It's easy to acknowledge the moments where progress has been made, but actually forcing yourself to enjoy the small successes is sometimes difficult.

Tonight we took the time out to register a monumental achievement in finishing the first draft of our book. 35,000 words on everything we know about creating and marketing authority sites. It wasn't easy, but we made it. By the end of the week, we'll have the final copy finished and ready to send out to you guys.

On a side note, an interesting thing occurs when you come close to launch date. You start to question whether or not the material in the book is actually worth offering to people. And although some of the content may not connect with everyone, still that's not the point. The point is to ship no matter what. To open your work up to criticism.

That's what we're celebrating tonight  at our local bar – the cocktail van (as shown in the image above). The chance to use our book to connect with others, even those who wish to criticize our work. We know we're not perfect, but we have managed to build a business that means something to a lot of people and which allows us to live the life we've imagined.

There's a part of us that obviously hopes you will like our book, but we're humble to the fact there are still improvements to be made, which of course we plan on doing. Every time we find something worth adding into The Art Of Authority, rest assured we'll add it in right away.

But anyway tonight is about celebration so I better get back to finishing off my favorite cocktail that's heating up in the evening, humid Thailand air – The Thai Bastard (look it up next time you're in Chiang Mai, it's awesome!)
